What could you do for the Society?
If a Society, such as ours, is to be successful, it is essential that a good
proportion of the members are prepared to play an active
part in the Society’s activities. Below are a few possible
ways in which members might be able to contribute. If you
feel you may be able to contribute in any of the ways
mentioned below, then please indicate this on your membership
application,
or contact the Secretary by email or telephone.
Committee and Officers
The Society
requires a committee to organize its activities and officers
to carry out the main day-to-day tasks. The officers consist
of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer,
Newsletter
Editor &
Webmaster. Committee members do not necessarily need to make
a great commitment of time. Most committee business is dealt
with at the annual National Satsuki Event, plus ad hoc
meetings, usually at other major bonsai shows.
Newsletter and Website Contributors
Could you supply
articles for publication in our society newsletter or on this
website? These could be items on Satsuki culture and
training based on personal experience; local or regional
“gossip”; drawings, cartoons, photographs, or any other
items that might be of interest to members. Contributions
could either be on an occasional or regular basis.
Exhibition Trees
Do you possess
Satsuki which would be suitable for exhibition purposes? It
would be a great help if exhibition organizers could contact
owners of Satsuki who would be willing to exhibit their
trees. Information (addresses etc.) in any register of trees
would be kept absolutely secure. Contact the
society by
e-mailing Ray Beddow (secretary) at: satsuki_society@hotmail.com
or by phone on
01384 569324.
